Veg Samosa

Recipe for Veg Samosa by Noami's Kitchen


Dry ingredients :----


Refined all purpose flour /maida: 3 cups


Semolina/suji: 1 cup


Turmeric powder : 1 tea spoon


Peanuts: 1 table spoon


Cumin seeds powder /jeera: 1 tea spoon


Chilli powder: 1 tea spoon


Coriander powder /dhanya: 1 tea spoon


Cumin seeds /jeera: 1 tea spoon


Carom seeds/ ajwain: 1/2 tea spoon


Salt to taste


Oil to fry

Raw ingredients :------------


Cauliflower : 250 grams


Potatoes: 3 large


Carrots: 2 small


Peas: 100 grams


Onions : 2 large nos


Garlic : 50 grams


Ginger : 50 grams


Green chilli : 2 to 3 nos


Water to boil

Procedure :-------


Add salt to taste and 2 table spoon of refined oil in the refined all purpose flour /maida,Semolina/suji and carrom seeds mix well.


Add water and neat it to make dough. Keep it aside.


Half boil the raw vegetables ; cauliflower, potatoes, carrots and peas.


Strain the vegetables out of the water and cut into small cubes.


In a separate pan heat oil


Add Cumin seeds and chopped onions and fry till golden brown.


Add crushed ginger and garlic and let it fry as well till golden brown.


Add peanuts and fry for a minute


Add the remaining of the dry ingredients and fry in low flame for 2 minutes


Add the boiled vegetables which were cut into cubes and fry till its cooked. Do not smash it.


Remove the pan from the fire and keep it aside.


Roll small portion of the dough (chapati/tortilla/flat bread shape) flat and cut it half like half moon shape. 


Make a cone with the half cut portion. 


By the help of a small spoon add the fried vegetables in it. 


Close the opening by pressing with the help of the fingers. 


Fry it till golden brown. 


Serve hot with desired chutney or sauce.
