Dry ingredients :----
Rice flour/ chawal ka atta : 500 grams
Split Chickpea/ channa dal : 1 cup
Cashew nut/kaju : 50 grams
Raisins/khismis: 50 grams
Jaggery powder/gur ka powder : 1/2 cup
Clarified butter/Ghee : 1 table spoon 🥄
Raw ingredients :------------
Coconut 🥥 : 1 large
Water to boil
Soak split chickpeas /channa dal for 4 to 5 hours till it turns soft.
Boil half litre water and pour the rice flour in it and stir at the same time. Off the gas in 10 to 15 seconds.
Keep on stirring the mixture. If the batter looks hard add little bit more hot water.
Let it cool down for 5 minutes.
Apply a tea spoon of Ghee in it and make a soft dough and keep it aside.
Preparation of the stuffing mixture :
In a separate pan heat 1 table spoon 🥄 of clarified butter /ghee and add the soaked split chickpeas / channa dal after draining the water.
Add grated coconut and stir for 2 minutes.
Add jaggery powder/gur powder and stir for another 2 minutes. Switch off the gas.
Take small portions of the dough fill the stuffing mixture and make a modak shape.
Steam it for 3 to 4 minutes and offer to Lord Ganesha.
